Unfortunately, this year I will not be chasing the CP Christmas Train from Red Deer to Calgary on Saturday and possibly Calgary to Banff on Sunday. With today's snow storm continuing into tomorrow afternoon, road conditions currently are not the best and will only worsen. A usually 1 hour drive home took me over 2 hours, and I left work at 3:15 this afternoon.
Yes the train will leave Calgary on Sunday, but I just don't want to chance it and possibly get myself in a situation if conditions don't get better...unless the sun really hits hard. I was quite looking forward to seeing the train this year as it would have been my first time. I will however remain optimistic for Sunday.
